Academic Curriculum

Academic Curriculum

At Crown Street Primary our school mission sums up our overarching curriculum intent to equip our pupils with the knowledge they need for their future success.  We recognise that academic success alone is not enough and will instill in pupils a belief that the possibilities are endless for what they can achieve.

Our ambitious curriculum Is mapped out for academic subjects in carefully sequenced knowledge-led Subject Overviews.  Knowledge Organisers are used to support planning, teaching and assessment in each subject.

Reading is at the heart of our Curriculum and termly Curriculum Bookshelves are thoughtfully curated to inspire pupils about their focus theme through a diverse selection of books that are also linked to the UN Rights of the Child Convention.

The themes of Identity, Hope, Growth, Belonging, Courage, Heroism, Creativity and Curiosity are explored and revisited to deepen pupil understanding of each within different contexts and at different stages of their primary education.
