Academic Curriculum

Academic Curriculum

At Crown Street Primary our school mission sums up our overarching curriculum intent to equip our pupils with the knowledge they need for their future success.  We recognise that academic success alone is not enough and will instill in pupils a belief that the possibilities are endless for what they can achieve.

Our ambitious curriculum Is mapped out for academic subjects in carefully sequenced knowledge-led Subject Overviews.  Knowledge Organisers are used to support planning, teaching and assessment in each subject.

Reading is at the heart of our Curriculum and termly Curriculum Bookshelves are thoughtfully curated to include a diverse selection of books that are linked to the UN Rights of the Child Convention and allow links to be made across different curriculum subjects.

Our bookshelves also explore our six character traits of Bravery, Citizenship, Curiosity, Gratitude, Integrity and Kindness, which we believe will allow our children to succeed in a future of their choice. These traits are explored and developed within different contexts and across each stage of our pupils’ primary education.
